After the thrilling conclusion of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, tournament organizers have officially revealed how the prize money will be distributed among the participating teams.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that a total of $11.25 million will be shared among the 20 teams that competed in the global tournament. The prize pool reflects the record increase in ICC tournament rewards that was introduced in 2024.
India Takes the Largest Prize
India national cricket team emerged as the biggest beneficiary after lifting the trophy and securing a historic third T20 World Cup title. India defeated New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs in the final, earning $2,639,423 in prize money.
New Zealand, playing only their second-ever T20 World Cup final, received the second-highest payout of $1,422,692 for finishing as runners-up.
Each team in the tournament received a base participation amount of $225,000, with additional earnings awarded depending on match wins, stage progression, and final tournament position.
Semi-Finalists and Top Performers
Among the other top performers, South Africa national cricket team crossed the $1 million mark, earning $1,005,577 after reaching the semi-finals. South Africa had an impressive unbeaten run during the tournament before losing to New Zealand at Eden Gardens, where opener Finn Allen played a match-defining century during a remarkable chase.
The other semi-finalist, England national cricket team, took home $974,423 after a strong campaign that nearly saw them upset India in the semi-final stage.
